Woodburners are natural focal points that give light, warmth and character to any room.
Stoves provide a cost effective and efficient way to heat your home all year round.
With over 25 years experience in the building industry, you are in good hands with Manchester Woodburners.
Never had a woodburner installated before? Don't worry, here's a guide to each part you need to consider when getting a stove.
This is the actual woodburner you see in your room. You can pick from our range of woodburners based on your aesthetic choice and we'll guide you on what size and heat output will be right for your room. All the stoves we offer have large windows, allowing you to get a great view of the fire.
This is the base of the fireplace, what the woodburner sits on. There are a variety of finishes available from tiled to slate, the key is that the hearth is a stable, solid foundation that supports your stove.
These are the walls that surround the stove. Some like to expose the brick and let the natural structure of the house frame the stove and others like either a fire-rated plasterboard or tiled finish. Your chamber should work visually with your room and be a safe backplate for your woodburner.
Surround, beam or plaster are the three ways people choose to finish their woodburner installation. A surround (some people will call it a mantlepiece) can be traditional or contemporary, providing a frame to the wooburner. A beam is mounted over the top of the woodburner and is usually a wood effect or contemporary finish. Plaster finishing allows for a clean and flat surface ready for painting.
This is what we put down your chimney to ensure we can get the smoke up and out of your house safely. Every woodburner must be installed with a new flue to ensure there are no smoke leakages from your chimney as we ventilate your woodburner. Each flue is topped with a cowl, which is applied on your roof stack. The specifics of flue type and cowl depend on the structure of your house and roof, so we'll advise and explain once we've had a chance to see your property.
